Recommended Professional Services

  • HostGator
    http://www.hostgator.com
Since its establishment in 2002, HostGator has been a world-leading provider of web hosting service. They provide top-notch service to clients from over 200 countries internationally with our staff of over 600 employees. They offer Shared, Reseller, VPS, and Dedicated server packages for both beginners and professionals alike. Each of our shared Web Hosting plans includes 24/7/365 support, a 99.9% uptime guarantee, and a 45-day money-back guarantee.
  • Google
    http://www.google.com
Google is not only the most widely used search engine, they also offer a myriad of tools for web developers including XML Sitemaps, AdWords, AdSense, Analytics, and great maps for embedding in websites, and image previews.
  • GoDaddy
    http://www.godaddy.com
I have to admit that I have somewhat of a love/hate relationship with GoDaddy. They are one of the largest (if not the largest) domain name providers, and as such you will pay far less for your domain name with them than most anywhere else. GoDaddy also has excellent customer support, and they provide low-cost SSL certificates. The downside is that GoDaddy prompts you at every turn to buy this, or that (their checkout process is like Navigating a maze)...and in most cases what they are offering is not needed. And be careful with the cart quantity since they like to change the registration period from 1 year to 2 years. Of course they also offer hosting, and provide the templated system WebsiteTonight, webmail, and more. My suggestion, use them for the domain names and SSL certificates, and that is it.
  • PayPal
    http://www.paypal.com
People seem to either love or hate PayPal, and the reality is that they have been around long enough that most people have accounts with them, and trust them for a secure checkout. If you are seeking to sell a limited number of items, accept donaations, or a subscription, and you don't expect high volume, then PayPal really is the way to go. PayPal doesn't charge a setup or monthly fee on their standard personal and business accounts, and in comparison to the other "All in One" merchant account options their pricing is comparable.
