The Highway 50 Association is a Northern California nonprofit that hosts the annual Wagon Train Trek, a beloved celebration of the westward migration along the historic Highway 50 corridor. We first developed their website in 2004, redeveloped it in XHTML in 2013, and returned in 2021 to modernize it as a fully responsive HTML5 website.
The website features a customized responsive layout designed to capture the character of the organization while improving usability across modern devices. Features include a full-width homepage slideshow, lightbox image galleries, a reviews carousel, donate button integration, and a PHP contact form with jQuery validation. Additional work included content writing, image sourcing, image optimization, and SEO optimization of pages and images. We also provide hosting for the website.
